Default i got running problems plz help

hey there guys i bought a 95 wrx wagon import with blown heads and after getting this fixed at great cost the car hasnt run right since i got it back,Here's the problem, the car looses power in a chugging motion, backfires like a crazy gun man.ive had a number of people look at the car and they cant narrow it down, its also not coming up with any fault codes.just to let u know the car wasnt running like this before i had the heads done,so any advice before i shead out loads more money trying to get it sorted.

sure the head gaskets were correct thickness as this could cause incorrect compression think if there too thick it can lower compression? someone please advise if this is wrong. start a process of illimination .
turbo ok
fuel system- fuel pump, fuel filter, injecters
ign.system- plugs, leads, coil,
or maybe the timming wasnt put back right , or might just needs a good tune up. personally think it might be down to the timming it sounds the most obvious hope this has helped know it sounds alot but if you get the timming checked then if thats ok get a compression test done if the two most likely things are ok then start checking the rest good luck buddy

Has the garage compression tested it and told you what the results were?
