Depending on your age it might have been worth checking before you bought it.

However, try A-Plan. Plenty of adverts for them in the insurance section.

Nik.

Depends how you define costly. Still a group 20 car regardless of your age. I personally use Privilige but have had a better quote from Tesco recently.

Privilege was MILES cheaper than anyone else when I was getting quotes - they do require a tracker though. Go direct to their website.

Ended up with a quote of £430 against next cheapest of £750 on my standard 2002 WRX Wagon. It helped when I upped the excess to £350 and I limited miles to 7000.

Although I have got 5 years no claims and am 33, it's still parked on the street in SE London!

Just go to Cheap UK Car insurance and home insurance quotes comparison from Confused.com. and they will give you the cheapest quote.

My renewal with RAC was £520, confused.com came back with £401 with Ecar, job done.

I'm also 38, full ncb, no points and car is an MY00.

I'm with A-Plan paying just over 600 quid. Which is okay for me 26 and vehicle parked on street. Might be lower in a couple of weeks due to obtaining a garage.

The one thing is every online site does not have an option for a prodrive pack even confused.com with all the mod options did not have prodrive as an option !!

So i have ended up phoning them all which takes ages, best so far is privilage at £590 for my wrx 2.0 pro drive pack 05 plate parked in garage with cat 1 alarm and tracker fitted.

That is for me and the misses to drive it fully comp...
ps the thought of the misses driving it scares me

Always put the missus on the insurance even if she doesn't drive it as since women are classed as less risk they lower the insurance quote (even as an additional driver).

So glad we are not sexist
