Favourite Driving Games
Probably should have put this in computing, wanted to see if people had their own list of favourite driving games. I have grown up on driving games most of my life, here are the title I currently own and still dust off to play now and then:
Metropolis Street Racer - Dreamcast: difficult game but one of my fav's
Sega Rally 2006 - PS2
Colin McCrae 2005 - PC: bit rough around the edges but still a good blast
Gran Tourismo 3 - PS2: Good fun when you start earning some proper cash, not really as realistic as I hoped it would be
Toca Race Driver 3 - PC: One of my fav's, hard to master but very rewarding
GT.R - PC: bit buggy but has serious depth, hardcore driving game fans only (can't wait to get my hands on the sequel)
rFactor - PC: Stupidly difficult game and you really need a steering wheel + gear shift setup for this
Midnight Club 2 - PS2: not very realistic but the atmosphere in this game is amazing, some of the highspeed races through the streets are the most intense you will get in any game
Thats my lot for now, still waiting for a half decent game to come out on PS3 but I am hoping Gran Tourismo lives up to the hype for once

Richard Burns Rally - probably the best rally game made.
For laughs (arcade style game rather than simulation game) i love the Need For Speed series. The Underground and Carbon games were great fun

I only really play games on the PC with a Logitech driving force pro. These are my favourites.
Richard Burns rally, easily my favourite and you can add different cars, modify the sounds etc.
GTR2, a very accurate sportscar sim. Very hard to get right though. You can add tracks to this though and the Nurburgring is very good.
GTL, classic touring cars. A very accurate sim from the same people that created GTR but it's great fun because of the low grip levels. You can also add different circuits and my current favourite is castle combe
Race 2007, World touring car sim. Made by the same people responsible for GTR2, GTL & M3 challenge this game is a very accurate sim again but as well as world touring cars it features the cars from 1987 (without the RS500 ), F3000, caterhams, BMW minis, radicals & formula BMW.

Need For Speed Most wanted had such a good story I was hooked on that game for weeks... When they announced Carbon was on the way I really could not wait for it.... When it landed it was so crap, i finished it that night!
But if your looking for a good simple arcade game go for NFS most wanted...

I've spent more time sitting on Sega Rally in the arcades then i care to remember. Including a great 6 way unit 100m from our hotel on a lads holiday way back.
Colin McRae series 1,2,3 all superb on the playstation/2.
WRC on PS2. Awesome. Year out of work & a worldwide comp to win a Evo6TME, hours well spent.
