Default Classic uk with sti4 brain?

Hi, i have a 98 terzo and i am wanting to fit a 6s ecu from a my97 sti4 into my car. The guy at dastek told me it is a straight swap but the guy i bought it from who also had a uk turbo says that i need to change some wires round. The thinks it is the crank sensor and cam sensor? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I was told by dastek that the uk turbo ecu is restrictive when remapping the car and an sti brain would be the way to go to get the most from my remap. The guy i got it from says his car was running 1.2bar with this ecu fitted? Just bought the car recently so trying to get as much power as cheaply as i can for now. Also should i run yellow injectors with this ecu?

load of rubbish, unless your gonna go big changes aka big turbo, front mount, decat, induction kit, injectors etc the standard ecu is fine.

i had to change mine when i fitted a front mount, decat, induction kit and vf34, but they did try to map the existing ecu and thats the point it said i aint having any of it. i ran it for a year or so remapped onto the existing ecu (without the turbo and front mount).

give Scooby Clinic | The UK's Largest Independent Subaru Specialists | 01246 590 807 - Chesterfield S42 6QX a call and they'll be able to help out.

some age cars used not to mappable onto the standard ecu, but clinic can now map all years of ecu.

You would need STI injectors and MAF for the ECU to have a hope of working. The problem is that a Unichip is really not that good for Subarus. If you want to alter the mapping of your car, there are much better ways of doing it.

TYhat is good news, especially if it applies to MY 98 STI V4's as well. Does you know?

Thanks
