External wastegate

What are the benifits of an external wastegate and what sort of power do people get to before they decide that it is nessery to go down that route of modding?

Im not looking at getting one just curious

The benifit is that of having boost control on a non internally gated turbo. If your turbo has a wastegate you don't need one. That's all.

There are plenty examples of 500 plus BHP 2 litre Scoobs that don't need the added complication and expense of an external W.G.
