Default Gold wheels on silver car?

I'm looking to replace my gunmetal wrx wheels on my silver blobeye as 2 are kerbed and instead of spending £100+ on refurbing them i was thinking of getting some STI ones.
Now the gunmetal STI ones seem scarce but the gold ones are for sale everywhere but i'm wondering if gold wheels will look ok on a silver car?

whats the general opinion?

hmm thats what i was thinking

anthracite look too dull, gunmetal look as though they need cleaning and i can't recall seeing silver STi wheels?
other colours look aftermarket and i just want standard looking wheels (STI 17")

I have silver STi wheels.

I personally think anthracite (standard), bronze and black (after market) look good. I don't like the wrx alloys at all.

They will look alright.
I have a spec D with two sets of wheels, one of which are gold.
They look fine as do the original ones, which in a word, are unremarkable.

I have a silver bug eye and i asked myself the same question.

I have gone with Gun Metal 18" redlines which some would probably say are as common as bellybuttons but like the look.(getting them fitted today!)
I think Gold just doesn't look right IMO.

Am I the only person in the world who thinks that gold wheels are actually OK? I had planned to change them on mine but they've grown on me. I think they look nice on black Scoobs, both classic and newage. Can't imagine them on any car other than a Scoob though, if that makes sense.

I agree - they look good on black and WR blue, but nasty on silver or white IMO. I had gold on my blue STI for a while, but then got them changed to black/chrome as there were so many blue/gold scoobs about! The gold wheels on my white STI I immediately had refinished in anthracite as they looked AWFUL

Ah yes, don't get me wrong I like gold wheels on the WR blue and black cars, especially the WR blue. Just don't mix gold with silver or you end up looking like a chav lass with a blend of mismatching jewelery

Exactly. Which is why I like to leave my gold wheels with the 'natural' look!

However, I still get a shock when I clean them....so try not to do that too often

I don't think they look that bad as standard , I must admit when I got the car I did plan to change to grey wheels at some time but they are kind of growing on me now

I don't believe wheels from a 06 STI even fit a 06 WRX nevermind a 04 plate, or are you thinking on some new WRX wheels? Something to do with the brembos I think. Best check the fitting sizes before you buy.
