Default Tein Coilovers

I need to get my coilovers set up but does anyone have a good set up they could share with me pls.

The car is used every day & want it to handle well but not a real tyre killing setting.

Thanks

Chris

The easiest way of a temp measure is to set the coilovers to their 'halfway' setting, wind the damper control on the top of the shock all the way to the left, thats the softest setting, turn it slowly to the right and count how many clicks it makes, I think Tein list them to have 12 different damper settings, but after having 2 sets of teins in the past both of them seemed to click round about 24-26 clicks?? Anyway, how ever many clicks it makes just wind it back half that number so it sets the dampers on their half way setting, that'll at least give you a happy medium of handling and ride comfort until you can get them professionally set up, but at the end of the day coilover settings are a lot of trial and error to finally get the ride setting to suit your needs.

No, there is 16 positions. You must turn first to hardest settings. All the way tothe right and then 8 clicks back. This is mid settings. If you want hardest go right from this position and if you want softest on the left. Or just do it with the EDFC controler.

If you have EDFC that is!

I still had around 20 something clicks on my old Tein's even if I turnt it all the way to the right first and then click it back to the left. Not sure why, but that was on 2 different sets, 1 being a set of Super Streets, and the other being a set of Type HA's.

My mate used to work at ATS in Dunstable and I know they have a 4 wheel laser alignment system there and tracking adjustment. I'm sure most ATS's would have the same facilities if you can't be bothered to treck over there.

I have 3 presets on my EDFC:

(16 = soft, 0 = hard)

1 - front 2, rear 3 - hard\track driving
2 - front 6, rear 7 - mostly day to day\wet track driving
3 - front 14, rear 15 - motorway and granny driving

This is for an 03 STI with a low lip spoiler
