I drove my mates first.....scared the crap out of me
He was saying just swing it round the corner....I didn't dare do it
After driving it (on his third time of asking me) I went and bought one and sold my Puma to my missus
You sort of get used to the speed and acceleration, but it still puts a smile on your face. It occasionally still scares the crap out of me That's why I drive like an old bloke

I am currently in the USA driving a Mercedes ML320, nice enough car for a tank but the first thing I am going to do when I get home to Germany is take my Scoob out for a long hard thrash on the autobahn, I haven't driven it in a month and am missing it.

first time i drove a scoob, was a week before getting my own.
I knew i wanted one from watching the rallying
My first impressions were......... i thought it would be faster
Granted it was only a uk MY99, but thats all i could afford.
Bit of a kick in the seet up to 60/70 ish, then not alot after that.
Ow if only my missus would let me have another fireblade, now that’s quick.
Scoob comes close to the type of speed, use it right set it up for corners and keep a nice speed through them, probably why its so appealing to many.
Nought like getting your knee down on a cbr for thrills (and spills-hence I got me a safe/ slow mode of transport now- AFTER A NASTY SPILL)

Ray - my first drive was in a standard UK car 18months ago, I had been running a 2.0 Nissan Primera, i was just yelling with glee after planting it for the first time - they let me test drive it unaccompanied! - it turned out to be a bit tatty on close inspection and i didnt buy it but thats when the bug bit, i test drove loads and evebtually went for a well modded WRX(exhaust, chip, filter, higher boost)makes me smile everysingle time i drive it - you dont realise how rapid it is till you take someone out for a drive and they sh*t themselves - just on a moderately quick drive! Just make sure you can afford the HUGE running costs (see thread on how much has your scooby cost u this month) and no I havent christened mine either - :-)

as mentioned under another topic, i can't afford a impreza so i have to make do with a Lego estate (modified) which the power reminds me of my first rally mini that i had...
Just throw it in to the corner and out she comes, Fun Fun Fun especially when i go to cornwall on the beaches with it, you can't beat 4x4 with power
I just love driving it on opposite lock in the wet :::

First drive in a Scoob was back in 97 when I bought the Catalunya.
I was amazed at the performance and loved the car. 18 months later tried an MY99 type RA. Wow! The drive home in the Cat made me feel like I was driving an Allegro. It had to go and still have the RA.
Room...well not so good, but if you leave the engine running for a while, you can make use of the bonnet. The scoop acts like a fan heater even with the engine switched off. Surprisingly comfortable even during the cold winter nights.

My first drive in an Impreza was when I collected mine in Holland, coming from my old VTR it was a bit quicker, but nothing like the difference I had expected, first thought was 'I hope it is a lot better above 4,000rpm' a week later after it's 1,000 mile service I found it was, just not a lot
