Can I make the turbo more audiable?
silly question, but I just love the noise of the turbo whistle - its quite short lived on my uk2000 classic (standard apart from rear box+centre section), say 3rd gear between 2.5k to 3.1 and its gone and drowned out by my prodrive rear box - I started not listening to stereo as much now in favour! - any tips out there? thanks guys

When you accelerate, Whistle.
When you change gear make a "Tisssssssshhhhhh" noise.

seriously fella, the prodrive backbox isnt the loudest, so get a decat pipe on there 3" bell mouth, and you'll here the turbo feathering and whisteling up from around 1700-1800 revs. i did until i fitted a blitz system from my downpipe replacing a scoobybits system...

but then you get into the age old argument about induction kits and impreza's... (without trying to **** on your bonfire )
besides, a decent downpipe will only cost a few quid more than an induction system, and i know which one would give more power gains
could try a replacement panel filter depending on your budget. green cotton k&n, sti, few to choose from

Right.
And Right.
Had to mention though, as it is an option. But that and remap(etc) costs is not worth it for noise. I'd go with the stilovers' suggestion.

sound advice there chaps, thanks for not caning me too much - I'm keen as mustard for a decat downpipe in the near year, (hopefully payrise permitting) the added bhp will also make me smile for sure -

The turbo induction is much louder after removing the intake resonator (snorkelectomy), as is the OE recirc DV. It has been shown by one tester to slightly reduce power, but I liked it on mine so it stayed as was. A free flowing filter such as K&N helps too. A search will get you all the info you need.
