welcome to the site fella first of all.

20 is gonna be a pain in the **** to be honest. like gary (moley_wrx) said try ecar, but i very much doubt they insure group 20 cars, group 17 was the absolute limit for me when i was 21 with a uk turbo (grp 17...)

have you any ncb?

what age, price, value, etc etc of the car. makes a huge difference...

i think you'll be lucky for a fully comp quote to get under £3-3.5k personally VERY LUCKY depending on your area.

No offence mate but if I was you I would forget about it for a few years. At 20 years of age you are going to get stung for insurance. If I was you I would look at something like a Celica GT4, Honda Integra Type R, to do you in the meantime. Unfortunately Subaru Imprezas are a pain to insure under 25 and in alot of cases under 30. Just out of curiosity what was coved for that quote you received ie fully comp, excesses????

I have been quoted as much as £3500 for my 05WRX, am 34, 4 years n/c. Direct Line insure me for £358, fully comp, excess £200.

if you do enough searching and pay a decent excess... im proof of that. only reason my renewal will be more this year is because of my two claims...

I'm not sure if you are lucky or just plain crackers to even consider insuring a scoob before you get to 25. I think it's good advice to look at alternative performance cars at this stage, i.e. group 18 or lower. If you have a couple of grand to spare though just ignore this old timer
