Default Tires

Need new tires and be told by litchfield that they recommend toyo's TR1 for road cars. Anyone using them, what they like?
Does it stop tram lining?
Got bridgestones RE 070 on at the mo.

Cheers J

P-Zeros felt absolutly crap on my car. I sold them after 2000 miles.
T1R's are ace. Decent grip in all conditions and fantastic wear rate in my experience. Upto 26k on this set with some life left

I've just replaced my Toyo T1-S, with.....more T1-S. The road noise, wear rate and performance have been excellent. Wet or dry, not a foot (wheel?) wrong.

I've bought from 2 ebay suppliers. Best price and next day delivery.

If i didn't get the T1-S again, it would've been Yoko Parada 2's.

I went from the 17" RE070s to Toyo T1R on 18s. Got rid of the tramlining and a lot of the grip!

Michelin PS2s next I think.

I use T1R and they are very good.

I used to use T1S but tyre wear was appalling, much better with T1R.

26K on the set??? You've not been trying!!!
Granted i don't rip up the B roads like i used to and i don't do track days, but i have 313/300 and do use it when the time is right
I had 3 sets of T1S's before the R's and never got beyond 15k from a set. If i was to buy more tyres then i would deffo have more R's

i have the T1R's and granted i do push my car and it is running a few extra ponies under the hood, but i don't like the feel from them at all.
Car feels like it's in jelly as the car squirms on the tread (not the side walls, as the problem improves as the tyres wear out).
Grip is good, but hard to find the limits when the tyres wobble to start with.

Well I loved the RE070's that my 06STi came with (apart from last winter).

Recently swapped for a set of 19's which came with Toyo T1R's and I've got to say I was quite impressed with how well they handled.

Despite the change from 225 to 235 as well, there is less tramlining and yet (IMO) the amount of grip doesn't feel that much less.

Do you think i could keep the RE070 on the back and put TR1 on the front? Dont want to replace back as well, they're ok.

Cheapest, increase the driving challenge brought on by suboptimal handling.

its ok to match tyres as long as the front two and the back two are the only difference its when all four are mixed that problems arise.
