You have to put an induction kit on because one of the pipes goes through where your air box sits. Pretty simple to fit as all kits come with full fitting instructions.

just make sure that the induction kit doesn't foul on the fmic piping.

E.g. the Apexi Power Intake cone which is sold together with the autobahn88 fmic on some sites is a very poor fit. I had to mount the air filter directly to the MAF box to get it to fit.

You have to mount most, in not, all induction kits directly to the MAF.

explore, you'd probably be better off upgrading your top mount, as I don't think there is any way to fit an FMIC and retain the airbox.

Default NO !

Don't bother with a front-mount unless you're chasing BIG power.
I did it and it's SO much laggier....
An STI one will fit straight on, and has better quality plumbing to help airflow.
My FMIC is still on 'cos it cost a fortune.... and I hope to pass 400+ bhp later this year..... then it will come in handy

I agree with this... Wish I'd gone the STI TMIC route myself

Hmm ok... my instructions seemed to say to mount it to the end of the plastic pipe that connects the maf box with the air filter box, but then I think the instructions were for a japanese car... Either way, it doesn't matter really, but I had to make some custom brackets to hold the filter steady

I will be around the 400 area with the STI8 topmount on my V5 Type R, along with the MD321H it should be a very responsive setup as i just use it on the road.

I agree too - That's why I swapped back to a TMIC (albeit uprated)
