Default Just bought a Type r !

Finally got round to buying another scooby after the accident with the WRX, it was sourced through Vision Performance.....its a MY97 Sti 4 Type R in immaculate condition (grade 4) with only 35K miles.. after weeks of searching they found one to my exact preference even down to the wheel colour! I can not fault the vision performance customer service in any way and highly reccomend them to anyone looking to purchase a car or aftermarket parts..Should hopefully arrive in 6 weeks time then its going to be left in the hands of vision performance for some extensive modifications and power upgrades before its let loose on the road !

Heres a pic of the rear end whilst it was in the auction house in Japan, will post more pics as soon as I have them...

looks good, my advice tho is leave it standard for a fwe wks til u get used to it, unless you have had a type R before. they are totally night and day from a wrx or normal STI......if not you may get caught out and end up with mess on your hands.

just my opinon tho, but see so many threads of new(ish) type R owners writing them off...

yeah i don't intend to take it to its limits straight away..going to give it a few months to get used to, ive heard how easy it is to get the backend out on the RA's and Type R's, wouldnt want to wrap it round a tree and throw all that money down the drain ! lol

Depends if it is a late 97 Version 4 or a 98 car.

Welcome to the club, get ur self on www.tye-r-ra.co.uk

Dont be put off with the whole talk of it being hard to drive etc etc... its a great car and as ur already have had a impreza you will be fine just be careful for the time being until you get used to it.

As the car was manufactured before 2001 it is based on engine size not co2. Looks nice BTW.

Tax is based upon when cars are registered in the UK regardless of whether new or not It's one of the sh1ttiest Govt scams going! Scooby TC & myself both got 54 plate(ish) cars registered this year & on £300 tax ...

It can go as high as it wants. All the cars I want are pre 2001

Not just Imprezas either.
