Default Corsa 1.2 sleeper

Corsa badged up as 1.2 pulled out on me on roundabout this afternoon then booted it up slip road. This thing was real fast. I own a Merc S500 which would easily keep up with my STI PPP to 60 then beat it hands down on Autobahn. This Corsa was well quick and it waltzed up to 140 (mpy) miles per year in no time! What was under bonnet? Must have been 2 litre turbo GSi motor at least!!

Was it grey? It's probably the famous Corsa, running a 2 litre GSi turbo setup with stupid amounts of bhp.

There are also alot of bull**** brigade Corsa drivers though a local lad has a metalic blue XE engined Corsa with a big gay bodykit and he recons its running nigh on 300bhp... He showed me the engine bay, lots of shiney bits but still running the standard throttle body.

So 300bhp from N/A XE lump on a single throttle?.. OKKKKKKKKKKKK MATEEEEE.... He wouldnt take me for a spin or have a little play he just told me "I dont drive it fast", then when he left he clearly gave it death, and for some reason all I could think about was the skin on a rice pudding?

Also used to be a lad round here with a Burgundy B reg Nova, with "1.2 Merit" on the boot... It was totally stripped out and running an XE on twin webbers.. That was fun

And this is in a tigra:

bonkers!

Used to be a Nova round here that was running 260bhp with a Calibra Turbo motor in it. Maddest thing I ever saw! Remember seeing it try to stop though after a quick blast along our seafront one Sunday afternoon. It smoked it brakes big time.

Well there's an easy answer to that, don't bother with them and save some fuel.

Honestly, this place sometimes

And another thing.

To have got to be clinically insane to want race on of these chaved up small cars...why?

Because I would hazzard a guess that these cars are mostly uninsured, due to undeclared mods, as there's no way the average young driver could get or afford the insurance for the mods they've got.

So in short, racing a young, immature, uninsured driver, with little road sense, in a car that was clearly not designed for the power it has, is a very quick route to jail. Remember if they crash whilst you were racing them, you'll have the book thrown at you.

Rant over.

Why do they need to be 'watched'?

..I didn't see anyone specifying anything about racing on the road....

Just devils advocate..

I remember seeing some crappy old brown Nova with a XE Turbo (I assume it was an XE.. and as for crappy - it really was a crappy shell - rust and everything!) destroy an Impreza at Shakespeare raceway, the nova sat on the line - gave the impreza a good 2 to 3 second head start, and still got over the line a good 4 or 5 car lengths clear of the Impreza. I hate Nova's but even I found it funny

thats the ones i was talking about, the ones with standard wheels no bodykits etc but the only giveaways usually are a 5 stud wheel pattern from a cav turbo, theres a 1.5 td corsa near me its white looks like a normal corsa but is running over 200 bhp with the chassis sorted as well, but i agree with the pimped up chav chariot, the worst thing ever is a combat kit and small wheels
