Hm... OK...
I've no idea what the construction of the engine is, I'm afraid, though I'm sure there will be someone along soon who does. I do know it's 280PS as standard running about 0.9 bar.
The 555 borrows some features from the Type-RA: roof vent, no ABS, I/C water spray - but not the aluminium bits. It has STI badged seats, not McRae signature ones. Wheels should be gold 8 spoke Speedlines with gold STI centre caps; lots of cars have had these changed, presumably because they're hard to replace if they get damaged.
Climate control, rear wash/wipe, electric windows and electric folding mirrors are standard. The 555 also has special '555' badged mud flaps, and was available fully stickered up from the factory (though many cars have had them removed).
The car is often confused with the STI v2 Type RA, which came in the same colour and looks similar, but is lighter and less well equipped.

rabskyline: Alloy boot, you sure? Mine's definitely steel, I've just stuck a magnet to it.
Davey: The v2 Type RA is a different car, though it looks similar. The 555 has a similar spec, but doesn't have the aluminium bits or DCCD. The 555 should have the 8 spoke Speedline wheels (as in the pic above), though many cars seem to have lost them for one reason or another.

I've always been led to believe that alloy boots were never fitted to an Impreza.
Yeah the bonnets are for sure and it makes quite a difference over the steel ones. My sister's wrx 260ps also has an alloy bonnet so I'm not sure which models came fitted with them.
