the TSL Group N didnt make the sound i really wanted, so im looking into these 3.. they all seem good but which would you choose and why? and which sounds the nicest, i want to hear the flat four "dugga dugga" burble not just a big jet engine noise lol

I've heard the Firestorm is dead loud.

The Ninja was nice, plenty of dugga and dead angry when on WOT. Still not that deep noise though. (Don't know whether that is because it's only 2.5")

Guy in the village has an afterburner, sounds quite loud, but don't know if that's a full decat or just backbox.

Why not give the new 3" afterburner a go?

Doesn't your 2006 STi have equal length headers?

That's why you dont get the dugga dugga dugga.

Cheers

I wouldnt mind seeing some views on this either. I have heard that the nur spec full system is VERY loud but not sure how loud the back box would be on its own

I have a SW Racebox with a decat. Sounds like a scoob should. It was good with just the BB and the deresonated centre, but the decat has made the tone much deeper.

Best of all, it's not the loud "gimmicky" sound you sometimes hear.

Group Buy on a H&S straight exit 4.5" would be the best value at the moment.
H&S make the Afterburner and personally I can't hear much difference.

Afterburner £249 - 269

YouTube - Afterburner

Firestorm £225-245

YouTube - Firestorm

My Prodrive and H&S

YouTube - WRX

currently £165+VAT https://www.scoobynet.com/group-buys...ll-models.html

Blitz £300's

YouTube - Blitz Nur Spec R on Subaru STI 06

Or stay stealth like I have

YouTube - STI

Video of It Shoots Fire - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Sound quality is poor, so you'll need to turn the volume up

Blitz NüR Spec R for me too, the build quality is second to none and comes with a bung should you wish to use it. Also I had alignment issues with the Afterburner on my PPP equipped MY05 WRX...

its a V-limited lip, got it as a deal sweetner when i bought the car from new.. its not cheap but there are cheaper replicas on the market and quite easy to find, revolution do one!

why dont you like your afterburner? if you were to put the prodrive back on would you be interested in selling the afterburner?

I will be able to get you one tomorrow at some point I reckon mate.

Could do it now but I think my fellow employees would be round if I did that!

Are you just after getting a backbox though or a system from the cat back?

Just saying that as mine sounds a bit more 'beefed up' due to replacing the centre section with the Afterburner silenced centre section as well.

Basically the exhaust gives a deep rumble/burble on tickover which is pretty mean sounding, my favourite sound is between 1-3K revs when pulling off and changing gear, its a nice deep sounding tone with that famous burble. When over 3-3.5K revs it sounds sublime!

You really wouldn't be disappointed with it mate, when I had it installed on my STi in the garage I smiled to myself for about 2 minutes while I told the mechanic to give it some revs.

well i was just after the backbox to bolt onto my TSL de-resonated centre section.. (theres little difference in the centre sections if they are not resonated or silenced, its just a tube).. i would love a sound clip of yours though, that would be a massive help!
