Last month I just swapped out my centre section for a Milltek De-Res centre and matched it up with an STi exhaust I got given. After about a week I called John at TSL (top bloke) and had him send me the Group N backbox (like I'd intended before the kind gift from Petch's). Got it fitted by my tame mechanic and bobs your uncle. I bloody love it.
Yes you do notice it and I think its significantly different from standard, but the quality of the sound is what matters, its deep, I mean really deep. And the quality of the BB itself is awesome, it could go on a wall in a gallery for me. Take a look at the pics of mine.
Under normal driving conditions its hardly there, especially with a bit of music on, but as soon as you put your foot down, you hear the rumble. Its exactly what I was hoping for, and I was worried about p*ssing my neighbours off, but Ive asked them and so far no issues. Just be considerate - I leave the house at 6.30am on tick over and its fine.
I'm trying to record a sound clip and Ive had a few bashes at it, but they come out at over 50meg and take forever to upload to any sites. If anyones got ant tips to skinny them down, let me know asap and I'll try and do another one tonight and post it tomorrow. Drop me a PM if you want further info.
I realise that this is not an STi, but I thought I'd post this anyway as it might help.

I have the full tsl system on my classic with the group a decat
Quite subtle without the decat and gave a nice burble.
The decat however, she sounds gorgeous a fair bit louder but much deeper.
John at tsl has looked after me very well with the various bits ive had over the past months.

tsl & de-res sound clip
Guys, I'm no video expert, so bear with me.
Here is the link to the vid Ive just uploaded of my TSL Group N backbox and deresonated centre. I'll probably record another one when my neighbours are out, I ws a bit conscious of revving the car too much while they were watching emmerdale or something.
Anyway, hope this reference is of some help.
