hi all ! my car got a slight bottom end rattle ,does anyone know how much is gonna cost me :-(

 

need to be a bit more specific of noise location.

could be something serious like bottom end knocking - ie rebuild, or it could be something trivial like a heat shield or blowing headers.

i have something similar on my car, thought it was headers so jacked up, turned on the ignition and had a listen. ended up ive got noisy tappets, which are more annoying over anything else, but will require bottom end rebuild eventually...

is definately the inside of the engine and is the bottem end is knockin (slight) is the bottem end rebuild expensive ......

 

Does it get worse under load? etc. what are the symptoms?

it still drives but as soon i notice the bottem end knockin i stopped driving it .. drives as normal not much diffrence before the bottom end knockin

 

Is it an import ? You have to be careful of illegal imigrants these days and in my opinion you could have a couple of them in the sump, they will do anything to get in the country mate.

 

Does the sound get worse under load, does it go away when warm etc. etc.
