Different model, handling and power. The WR1 stands in its own league compared to a Standard Classis or a Standard STI or a STI PPP.

With power comes expenses such as petrol and insurance if you do not have a few years no claims bonus so bear this in mind.

Hi Stephen,

Ive owned 8 scoobs myself, currently got a Wr1 it is the most awesome car Ive ever driven, and that comes from somone who's owned Rs6's, New M3's, M5, several evo's., 500 bhp supra tt, etc etc etc.

Ive also got a 2003 sti ppp, and the difference is night and day.

I drove a Fq400 the other day with a serious view to buying, it wasnt a patch on the perfection of the WR1.

I'm interested to hear why.

And would a remap, coilovers and 18's on the STi be the same as the WR1?

Gaz, No because the suretrac differentials front and rear transform the car.

The Wr1 also comes with a 3 port boost solenoid, modified up pipe bell and a very effective map from prodrive,.

I see you have yours remapped to 390/360, id assume that would be as fast, but then I had a Evo 6 running Autronics at over 360bhp and it wasnt such a good package as the WR1.

Its very hard to describe, its a case of having to drive a decent WR1 but do bear in mind, some had sub 315bhp at the WR1oc RR day mine had 322bhp, with a very impressive torque figure, the torque and mid range just seem to come from no where on the WR1.

Stephen, theres no faults with the WR1's apart from knocking rear passenger side shockers, these are easy replaced though.

That fault is common on all 03-04 wrx sti's.

Other than that, you need to look very carefully, of the 500 made only about 400 are now Straight cars, by that I mean a lot have been crashed and repaired, many were stolen, and then with the cars that are left your looking for all the bits and pieces that should be with the car, numbered tax disc holder, key ring, and the dash board plaque which goes down on the centre console.

Your looking for prodrive certificates, and your looking for full subaru history, the WR1 has 5000 mile service intervals, or yearly as many havent done much mileage,.

Its still very possible to get the right car and for more info join us here mate www.wr1oc.co.uk the guys there are very help ful and the register has probably half of all wr1's in it now.
