Default Caliper Paint

I'm looking to paint my calipers. What brand is most hard wearing etc? Where is the best place to buy from for a good deal?

Cheers,

Lots of folk use Hammerite smooth paint, aka "Smoothrite", available from many DIY places, carshops etc in a whole load of colours inc metallic.

It's hard-wearing, resists heat, and MUCH cheaper than "proper" caliper paint. It also paints DIRECTLY onto rusty metal, the only thing you'd need to do would be to wire brush the flakes off.

It also has the advantage of being very quick-drying, but you do need it's own thinners, or the brush will set solid, and most other thinners won't touch it.

I used Foliatec caliper paint got it from Halfords for about £15 but the cheap buggers don't even give you a brush.

Not the best picture

Halfords own stuff is only a tenner and looks good on my car. Can't do any pics at the mo because my camera is in a removals van somewhere on the A1

I used hamamerite on my old 4 pots. No problems what so ever, but agree with the comment about thinners though. We'll worth it, cleans your hands as well as the brush in seconds!!!!
