Ring round a few dealers, you certainly should be able to get some discount, I'd guess about 5% (Try Listers). And I think delivery for April 1st is possible at the mo...

Yes I have a prodrive on order through Crossroads in Shipton on Stour, delivery not confirmed but estimated as mid Feb. No discounts were available in Berks,Bucks and Oxon on 28th Nov when I ordered.
If you want to try before you buy you can drive mine, I have bought it and an Evo 7 for a Track Day rental business called U Drive cars.
Cars on track from early March.
Prices and dates still being put together at the moment
You should also be able to see our advert in the Autosport show guide or the December EVO mag.

Probably a silly question but is the prodrive version going to have a limited run, and if so how many as may trade mine in towards end of this year and would hate to miss out.

Question

WREXY,
Thanks for sorting out link.
UKSTI,
UKSTI 7 no rear wiper PD version only cosmetic changes NO quick rack just less turns lock to lock because of bigger fatter wheels STI 8 has and 18" wheels roof vent.

Are there or what lights under fog light covers? Knowing Subaru none

The STi8 does not have 18in wheels and a quick rack. Only the RA gets a quick rack.

As per all STi, you get the neat STi covers (or Prodrive barge boards) and that's it. Nothing behind them....but as everyone tends to put driving lights in the apertures anyway.

As well as missing out on the HID, rear wiper and engine bay strut brace on the STiUK, the ProdriveUK version misses out on the rally air vent on the top that the Japanese domestic market version gets. Reports from Australia where the car has already been released also suggest that the export STi gets a lower rev limit, probably due to fuel. Interesting that their sales spec. sheet states that the 195kW(265PS) is produced on 98RON.

According to Japan the export Prodrive Style will be limited to 1000 units. These will probably all come to the UK though as Australia has not got them and as far as I know none of Europe has them listed.

As already mentioned, more info at http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2002stiuk2.html

which includes the reasoning behind the does it or doesn't it have a quick rack question.

Steve

Just a warning to you budding STI owners!!

NEVER TRUST THE DATE THEY GIVE YOU ONCE YOU PAY YOUR DEPOSIT.

You will get the car when they are ready - and the date your given will be an "estimated" arrival date. The two dates can vary dramatically

Expect a month's delay and you wont have to run around like a loon shouting at your dealer every day its "late"!!!! So keep that old car running - dont sell it and leave yourself carless!!

I had posted a question here,

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...threadid=61548

on whether the new STI is the version 8. Are we now saying it is the version 8?

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Well in that thread Mike Wood said that the MY01 is not a 7, and the MY02 isnt an 8. Everyone assumes that the bugeye STi appeared first as a 7, but the key factor is what does FHI/STi call it? The MY02 doesn't have much changed over the MY01 and really the the only addition is the Prodrive Style to that sector of the STi range.

If you have a look at the Japanese Subaru site they have recently released the RA spec C. Now this is confusing, where or what were the spec A and B?

Not much difference between the 5 and 6 either. although Mike would know, after all, he is from Prodrive.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

why would someone from prodrive have any more idea about spec dfferences between sti 5 and sti 6 than anyone else?

isnt prodrive anti jap imports anyway, unless they can changhe a few things for the worse and then charge the uk public through the nose?

As Prodrive were the only way you could get an official STi in the UK I would think they know their stuff. They must have sold quite a few officially, and no I am not talking about the P1. One of their core businesses is rally cars to group N spec and the donor vehicle was the STi R and before it the STi RA.

Oh and the major change from MY01 to MY02 on the STi is that the aerial for the radio is now integral with the windshield glass.
