Question

Just out of interest, how many of you guys and gals are doing this in October.

I'm just looking into it and am curious if anyone has any need-to-know facts that are not on the www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk site.

The down points will be more helpful.

Thanks
Eliot

Hi Eliot,

How's it going? I thought about this Cannonball thing but I'm not sure if I like the idea of it to be honest, it got a lot of bad press last time and it will be very hard on the car!

Hi Eliot,

I was really up for this one. But in the end when you look at all of the costings, it's going to get hideously expensive:

Cost of trip =£2000 + vat
fuel (I worked it out at about 12 tanks of fuel) =£400.00(ish, cheaper abroad)
Tyres (your going to blow a set of tyres on the track days)=£400.00
Brakes (your going to blow a set of pads) =£100.00
Personal insurance =£75-00 each

Your actually looking at a total in the region of £3150.00 and that's just a very rough guide. I'm sure that you could add any number of extras onto that.

It's a shame really because it sounds like great fun

Cheers

Hi Guys,

I think your getting confused with the gumball rally. The CannonBall event is new this year, so it hasn't had any press yet.

Cheers

Gumball is New York to LA this year, cost £5000.

Cannonball Europe is indeed new, and I will be on it.

Not sure what I will be in though, but I am off to spec my new weekend car a week tomorrow, so this should be built by October

As it is only 500 miles a day there is no chance of falling asleep whilst driving so this is IMHO, a little safer than the Gumball.

Much rather take my chances in Europe with the police rather than driving hard through the US. Only a fool would try that, you'll be shot

Do you mean the Gumball UK? I've removed the phone numbers from this email, if anyone wants them I can forward the mail onto you (I'm not doing it).
