Is it just me or has the 'search' link disappeared?

It's still a shame it's no longer available, it was soooooooo useful. It's worth buying the up and coming CD for the archives alone, as long as they have a search feature!!
I've been unsuccessfully manually trying to find the posting JF made about trackday advice for the beginner at the last Donnington meet but its a case of the needle and the haystack. Looks like I'll be attending my first track day without that little gem of advice

I hadn't tried to search for a while and so hadn't noticed and I've been away for a few days and....... I'll get my coat and head for the Muppet Forum...... I like it there anyway.

Come on guys. Just give an answer.... whats up with the "muppetise" thing all the time.
I log on every few days... and to be honest i hadnt noticed the search had dissapeared... or a thread explaining why.
Perhaps some tight *** can explain

Cheers for pointing that thread out Dave.
As the lack of a search facility isn't any any way related to the bandwidth consumed by the non-scooby forums, then I'm 100% for keeping them running!
I've been using the BBS for a while now, and although it's changed a lot, it's still by far the best resource for an Scooby fan on the net!
Hopefully the issue of the previous posts on a CD-ROM in the near future might address the searching issue.
BTW, I hope you don't think I was trying to imply an 'us and them' scenario. There are some forums that I don't read, but as long as there are people posting to them, then they're important for the survival of the BBS!
Andrew.

I've had my paranoia hat on a bit this week......however your comment about the BBS being the best Scooby resource is exactly the point - it's in all our interests (serious and non-serious) to keep it just that for the benefit of all of us

Thanks a bunch Merlin and Puff - you both really are magic Much appreciated.
This info is just what I needed, being a track virgin, you can't beat good advice from experienced people such has JF who have been there and got the T-shirt. I'm off to Bentwaters Airfield tomorrow (supposed to be good for first timers) so this sort of info is invaluable.
As to Ade and '*cough* muppetise *cough*', a little harsh mate as there are people who don't have time to visit this board on a minute by minute basis and may miss a BB change the moment it actually happens. I know your comment is not supposed to be taken too seriously anyway.

What is the impact on BBS performance caused by the search facility, compared to the impact caused by all the muppet & non-scooby related chat?
Fun though it is sometimes, I reckon I'd rather have the abilty to search for useful info than the muppet & non-scooby forums.
What do others reckon?

This is perhaps a dumb question, but why has this search problem only occurred comparatively recently? It didn't appear to be a problem in Scoobynet 1 as far as I could tell, and I used to use it pretty regularly then when I was fact (or opinion ) gathering prior to getting my first Scoob.
And a searchable CD of archived threads is only going to be effective if it is coupled with resurrecting the search capability for the remaining "live" threads.
Just my 2 penny's worth.
