The 22B is an extremely limited run version of the classic Impreza. Only 16 official UK cars were made, the majority of the run been for Japanese spec.

It's rarity value rather than outright performance that makes the 22B so valuable. Even when it was launched it was barely any quicker than the STI Type R on which it was based.
What really makes it unique is the wide body / arch kit, very similar to the WRC car - no Impreza before or since has ever had this. The 2.2 litre engine is also unique, though no more powerful (unless tuned, of course) than the standard STI 2.0 litre of the time.

Those arches. Pure WRC ****
Still couldn't bring myself to buy one though if had the money. I'm more of a drive and use, rather than polish and garage.

I was filling up at a local shell garage in Cambridge at abott 6 am a few months ago and a guy rocked up in a 22b - he'd taken the rear spoiler off and put a new age low rise spoiler on as he thought the old one was too lairy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much prefer my significantly faster P1

As Andy says rarity value as less than 500 made.
P1 better as a useable car, 22B very firm suspension and low gearing.
But fast, I suppose suspension is easily tuned.
Not sure what power output was as officaly Jap cars are only 280bhp, but I would say a bit more power than that .
