I wish people would learn to drive better, that way our premiums would be MUCH lower.

Two one page adverts in Autocar exhorting readers to rush to their local Scoob dealers to snap-up (if they are lucky) one of the remaining few P1s that are about.

Demo drives are on offer at around 60 locations.

Uses the Porsche Boxster as the benchmark for comparison.

My they ARE getting desperate to shift them..

Now, if only they'd called them STi's (which is what they are to all intents and purposes) and sold them for the same price as an STi, they'd have had more interest.

Don't manufacturers put extra trim on and give them whacky limited edition names to sell them when they get desperate ?

How about the Impreza P1 Bonus, or Impreza P1 Calypso.

Perhaps some orange side stripes would help shift them.

If they've only sold roughly 400 then you've got 1/2 the market, not just 20% - cool

If I could afford one, I'd have one...But I wouldn't want any of the ones at my local dealership.

They've been caned around various circuits already.

"Demonstrator" is one thing - Sh@gged out ex-race car is another.

There are 25 ex-demo P1's on the Subaru UK website. All at >£30k.

Surely prices must start to fall soon?

If people didn't write off perfectly good Evo Vis and P1s then our insurance would be MUCH lower. (Sorry Blow Dog couldn't resist after your last post, don't take it personally!! )

Tom,

based on recent events, it is not your customers you should entertain, but your PROSPECTS

Make sure you do something before March 1st M8

BTW the other car (daren't mention it here has been ordered and will be delivered on or around March 5th so I will be talking turkey in Feb ).

Some of those 'ex-demo' P1s are probably brand new: its just that subaru don't allow advertising of new cars on the website, so to enable the dealer to put in on the website they......

Squizz - the dealer demo cars that turned up at donington were used for the road driving - they had other P1s there on the track!

In all I counted 6 P1s track side and about 12 P1s in the car park!!

On the day they said they had 'about seventy' left...

So why have photos of the cars on track been posted that I can buy down the road?

Oh, and a friend was a passenger in a certain "white five-door" that was thraped within an inch of its life on track...Only to appear on the forecourt the very next day.

Not nice, eh?

Chuck,

330 Ci Sport - bluddy fabulous engine - company car - what can I say?

And here was me vowing never to get a Beemer ever again - the car is very good, even for a Beemer and although it is a new model for Jan, and there is a waiting list - I got an 8% discount

Keeping the Scoob of course.

At the end of the summer there were around 400 still in the market.

That number seems to have significantly reduced since the appearance of Bugzilla.

Rumour suggest around 100 left - but that assumes that every senior employee of Prodrive/IM/Dealers now all have P1s as company cars.

I would feel sorry for Dave Richards and Mr IM getting it so wrong - but hey they have multi-multi-millions in the bank so the tears are not flowing.

And TOM what about the prospect entertainment?

I have been told twice now that around 400 P1'S are still available. Is this true?

Would rather have a good STI though.

Maybe they'll sell a few more after the write-up in the new EVO. It does well in their COTY 2000 (I won't spoil it by giving it away...) and they predict that the "old shape" Impreza will be the "one to have", like the E30 M3 is now over the E36 M3, and that the P1 will be the most sought-after of the lot.

Anyone got any ideas what dealers are asking for P1's now?

Talking of special editions, how about the P1 Sti?

.. or the P1 MP (MaxPower)..

springs chopped to lower it an inch
windows blacked out
dustbin converted into a back box
and dice in the mirror
and for the final touch, Maxpower stickers and a red contrast stripe down each side...

hhmmmmmmmmmmm...

I think £27-28k is a sensible figure for a new P1.

The dealer I spoke to seemed to think they could sell them for £31.5k because they're a cult car - 'totally different car to the new imprezza sti'. Go figure!

I agree it WILL have cult status, but its STILL overpriced, especially if you listen to Aaron on this BBS and his problems with the car.

I think it depends on how desperate IM are to get rid of their stock of P1's and I still think they'll need to discount them to £28k to get rid of the remaining ones though.

test drove a P1 today.very nice indeed.
the dealer was definitely keen to sell.
window price was £29,995.
the price you pay really isnt as important as
the deal you get.
he offered me £18200 for my dbm uk99 with 14500 miles.
this is a very good price and gives me enough equity to not have to pay a deposit.
dealer also agreed to remove my exhaust, induction kit, stereo, front and rear speakers and other little bits from my uk99 and replace with standard parts free of charge as part of the deal.9.9% apr on finance.

all in all i am happy with the deal BUT!!!!!!!

SHOULD I BUY IT????

pete(head aching decision to make)

Pete, is this from Simpsons?

I got offered 20k for my RB5 PPP against their demo P1 so 18.5k for a standard car is a pretty good deal!!

I'm back off to Dono on the 30th to see how the RB5 compares, though apparently they may be getting another one so I won't be too upset if you buy it...

Whats wrong with Furry Dice ?

I did hear a whisper that the UK WRX STi will be quite a beast with cosmetics to cover the bad bits and more power than the P1.

P2 anyone ?
