With so many threads being hijacked, and more and more users jumping on the "slating" wagon, completely ignoring the innitial post, let's turn it around a little.

I won't pretend you guys havn't ever helped me, because you have time and time again.

There's one name that almost always pops up when a tech question is asked and that's Jolly Green Monster.

He's usually pretty straight to the point and knows his stuff, without taking a different direction from the post.

Is this guy the most helpful Scoobynetter?

Lets hear some names.

If you've got no good comments please move along!

Its jolly green monster as the thread starter had it a little muddled up.

Without really wanting to start a major row, a lot of the really helpful people moved away from SN as they did not wish to pay to advertise on SN.

I've always found corradoboy to offer excellent advice (maybe coz his car was similar to mine), even though he thinks his Skoda diesel is as fast as an STi.

Interesting question here.

for me it is David at API.
But I think there are helpful people for each section almost?

Engines have their crew, Suspension theirs (prob different people) and so-on.

The heavyweights are undoubtedly on 22B where the techies most certainly are and there are several very knowledgeable people there who are mainly trade so have seen a lot of things that work or don't.

There are some who contribute in an amusing way, and one (not two) who add a thought provoking theme and that has to be Pete Lewis.

He can drive you mad, but I like the slightly abstract manner tbh.

Yep, David get my vote for Engines/transmissions
Suspensions? I'm just a humble practicioner, no expert.(and a bad speller)
Engine management? Go to 22B and be well advised by Bob/Andy/Paul and several key others, but do not give nonsense or you will be barred...but some are just so bloody funny it's untrue.

For me the best general advice is in reading Projects; there is just so much to learn from other's adventures.

Graham.

RRH - Bailed me out when I was a scooby newbie - taking time not only to reply to my posts but meeting me to fix a problem that the subaru mechanics couldn't fathom. Had it not been for him I would have stopped on SN for more than 5 mins because I was new and desperate to find help... His willingness to help introduced me to a community I didnt know could be so helpful.
It's fantastic that these kind of people have the knowledge and the time to help others out and are well worth a shout on threads like this

And here you are on post count 4238.

This is what I'm talking about.
Snetters giving advice and solving problems Subaru's own fully trained mechanics can't.

Fair play to all the names mentioned and to all the chaps and chapesses who help us out

See Snet is'nt all rants and arguments.

Damn I'm gonna go cry in my car, I feel emotional, I'm giving the love, I need a hug

Got great feedback advice and patience from Funkyspider when I joined despite my annoying tirade of excited new boy questions. Also from Corradoboy who's now gonna be getting really bigheaded because this is his second mention!

There's always going to be the odd troll, negative post or annoying thread but to me the forum is still a good source of help and info.

corradoboy and gc8 for me. but gc8 now frequents as another username...

oh, not to mention jasemac helped me out when i forist had my silver wrx last year. not so much on here now as i call him instead.

pslewis would win the most biased unhelpful poster imho.

andy f is up there too with most helpful although ive never had and dealings with the fellow personally.
