My car used to do this after i'd been on a dual carriage way or quick road then stop at lights and the idle would drop low, stalled a few times aswell. I took of my induction kit and cleaned the air mass which seems to have cured it

Another thing that nobody has mentioned yet. Do you have an aftermarket Dump Valve fitted? If these are not adjusted properly or worn out you will also get a rise and fall in revs at idle.

Evening all been away for a while back to my problem with the revs dropping off (only now and again ) have tried going for a run in the car 15-20 mins or so got back home unplugged the MAF sensor and car cuts out.Does this mean that my MAF is ok and it could be something else if so what could it be?The problem only happens now and again if it helps.

Silly question but is your aircon running.
You will notice with ac running that the fan kicks in a lot more often, causing a dip and rise.
Just a thought.
