Lost my virginity yesterday!
Well 30 odd years is not a bad run!
I was finaly stopped by the police yesterday for driving loo fast on a dual carriagway. This is the first time I have ever been stopped since I started driving over 30 years ago....is that a record? I haven't even been stopped by the roadside testing or breathalysed.
Anyway, I had just dropped my daughter & son (Dads Taxi Service)off at around lunch time & thought it was such a nice day ,at last, that I would take the scooby for quick blast down the local dual carriage way which has a few nice roundabouts.I spotted a sky blue(horrible colour) Saab following me back around the roundabout which was odd.So as I made my way back I approch the 30mph & like a good boy behave myself ,as I always do in built-up areas.Curiosity got the better of me as after a couple of miles the Saab was still behind so I pulled over to see what they wanted or if it was really following me.
Turns out to be a lone police traffic officer who read me the riot act & was on report for a year.Fairplay as she hadn't clocked me for long enough for speeding & as I am just as big a hypocrite as most people and see bad driving as a menace .
So,that's my virginity gone.I cant be that bad a driver as I have always been a life long car enthusiast ,tried to drive according to the conditions & never speed in built-up areas or drink & drive & keep the car in tip-top condition.
Can anyone else beat 30 years without pull of any kind?
Just annoyed I didn't have the nerve to use the line a friend told me when caught speeding:
Officer: Sir,can you tell me why you where driving so fast?
Driver: I was maintiining a safe distance between me and the car behind.

Don't say what I said then..
Cop - "What's the speed limit on this road sir?"
Me - "Well if I get a good exit from the roundabout I reckon about 140 MPH before the next one"

That reminds me of another goodun..
Officer: "You were doing over 120 miles per hour sir".
Driver: "Surely not, I've only been out 10 minutes?"

I lost my virginity when 19 in a Triumph Spitfire....then decades later in an A4 (running -in) and now a third time 3 weeks ago in an old 911.
My 'activity' seems to be gettingmore frequent as I age.
Is it my eyesight?
Is it my luck?
Is it because the cars driven are faster?
I think today it is the middle one.
Graham.

I can tell you about my luckiest escape! Pulled out onto a main road and come up behind a new shape BMW 5 series with what i thought was 4 business men inside. In front of him were a few cars doing about 60. He goes for the overtake and i follow very closely as i wanted to get by as well- doing about 90 by then.We then join a dual carraigeway with a very curved entry onto it- i then overtook the BMW at speed around the curve and looked across to see 4 coppers eyeing me! I then figured that they must be out on pursuit training!
I then kept to about 80 and pulled over to let them pass- by which time the police sign had appeared in the rear window!
Never got stopped or heard anything-thanh god they did not have vascar aboard!
Anyway, learnt my lesson and wont do it again

"Vehicles used in manner causing alarm, distress or annoyance" - So any police car or Camera van then? Some copper with blues on behind me is going to cause me alarm, distress and annoyance all in about 30 seconds
F**k me. I see people using vehicles in a manner causing annoyance to me every weekend when I drive home. That doesn't mean I think their cars should be crushed.
But saying that - I'm 28, always have driven the sort of car you'd think would draw police attention, and *touch wood* never been pulled yet.
