THULE roofbars, any1 tried em?
For a MY98 classic saloon ! Yeah i know. I need to take a whole heap of **** away with us when we go on holiday (not least noahs ark - going to Filey). I'm just asking if anyone has any experience of the THULE system as is in the link and if they're any good. I've been in touch with Subaru and they want £140 whereas these are £80 and won't get used that much. The guy at Sub said that Halfords stuff (i.e THULE) is rubbish but i think he's just trying to get a sale.

Sorry for the chapter
Andy.

I've got a set of Thules that I used to use on my Saxo and they were very good (although they were the more expensive aero type ones). I think Halfords also do their own brand.
Haven't got around to buying a set of feet to use them on my impreza yet, but probably will do.

Thule are very good. Halfords are crap. I wouldn't be surprised if the Subaru ones are Thule. You can't go wrong with them mate, save yourself some cash and get the Thule.

You're embarassed about a roof rack?! How about me with a P1 , a roof rack and a huge thule ( i think) box .
Used it a couple of times and then gave up and bought an MPV following the arrival of kid no 2.
I haven't used it for two years or so, so should get it out and put it up for sale. It is designed for a two door, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't fit on a 4 door as well. It has the same feet and clamp as the fitting kit on your website.

I've got Thule bars for a classic and they get used most weeks for either bikes or kayaks - or in the case of holidays, both. Used them for 5 years and never had a spot of bother with them.

Cheers for the replies fella's. TBH i'm looking at getting back into kayaking so they may get used more that just the holidays but i will have to weigh up the money situation first.
FAT BOY if your thinking of selling and you're local would it be possible for me to try them on my car, if they fit i'll have em off ya if the price is right. I'm in Widnes, Cheshire.
Cheers

Had Thule on my Jeep Cherokee, excellent system that can be adapted for many uses ie; Roof Box, Cycle Rack, Ski Rack, etc . I'm selling mine as it's no use for the scoob, the system I have fits cars with roof bars so if anyone is interested pm me.

I should sell them and would be happy to let you try them, but unfortunately I'm in London
Anyway, you've inspired me to do something about them so , if I have time, I'll get them out of my cellar this weekend and get some photos sorted - maybe even get them on the car.
I wouldn't be wanting much for them as it would be nice to reclaim a big chunk of my small cellar and I don't ever intend using them again anyway.
Cheers
