Default sidelights wont go out

I am having problems with my side lights not turning off. Ignition is off, light switch is on off position, has anyone else experineced this problem? Car is STI MY53, thanks

well i have tried just waiting for the battery to go flat so the problem is sorted then i wont give up, just thought a post was worth a shot, cheers!

Its a common fault. You'll have to remove all of the exterior and interiors bulbs from the car when not in use. With a bit of practice, you can normally do this in less than an hour.

top of steering column, little switch,turns on your sidelights as parking lights.


and if that dosent work, use the above method

If it makes you feel any better ferretboy - I'm pretty sure almost EVERYONE here did that when they first got their Impreza..

i just had the car valeted while iw as in town too such a n00b ! i enjoyed the wind up, i really was going to take the bulbs out too! lmao

It's not on the topic of lights but speaking about stuff like this reminds me,how many of you have had the problem with the interior boot release not working? now that one will get you.

Ha ha, I "broke" my boot release the other week it took me ages to work out what i'd done.

I've done the light thing too

I had to take my whole interior out including the carpets to trace the boot release wire back to the boot and try and find the fault?

Theres a little lever on the actual boot clasp that you have either pushed up or down(cant remember what way)so all you have to do is push it the opposite way to which it already is.

You know I wondered what that lever on the boot catch was for... so now that's sorted, what's the point of it?
