Default Spec-C water tank

I was just wondering, what does the water tank in the boot of spec-c's actually do? or is it just for show???

Spec C's do not come with a rear wiper.

Or was that just a joking remark?

Definitely not for show. I'm surprised by how often I have to refill mine.

Normal(ish) road use I get through one gallon of water for about 100 miles.

I have covered 7000 miles since picking up my spec c, with the IC spray mainly set in auto mode, and have filled the tank up from almost empty 3 times.....thats about 34 litres i would say, so i get about 200 mile per litre.....i must be driving like a girl then RoboCop?!?!?!

One thing I noticed this last time that you might not all know is that there is a warning light which flashes up on the dash when the tank is getting very low, it had me worried for a while cause normally warning lights on the dash are expensive...i used to have a Fiat Coupe LOL, but then i twigged i just needed some more H2O

There are certain criteria that have to be met within the ECU parameters for it to activate. I think it's charge temp, engine speed and vehicle speed.

Leedsarmy - From the experience with my Spec C I would check that your intercooler spray noozle isn't blocked - I frequently need to check and unblock mine.

For normal use (on auto mode) I fill my tank up every two to three weeks which is about 1000 - 1500 miles on a tankful. Last year on the Route de Napolen in France I emptied the tank in 400 miles, mind you it was a blistering hot day and I was enjoying the drive!!!.

Obviously in cooler times of the year or when it's raining, it doesn't use hardly any. So in the last 2 months it used a tea spoon full.

I only use de-ionized water which I buy 25 litres at a time now for about £7.50 +vat. Sad I know.

De-ionised water thats far too safety concious can't beat a good drop of the old tap water (not that ive used it in the Spec C but i did use it on the Type R with no ill effects
