Default What RON?

I'm thinking of buying a classic wrx import N reg, but want to know what I can safely fill it up with. Is it safe to only use Super unleaded/Optimax/V power Tesco super etc or will I need an Octane booster too? Also how much of that would I add and how much is it?

Cheers

Personally I only use a 99 RON from Tesco or Shell.

A 1996/97 will be fine with this.

I recall someone saying on here that Japan didn't get 100 RON Fuel untill the late 90's (98ish I think). So you should be ok without a remap using Super i.e. Tesco 99 or V Power

At Tesco some do 99 and some 97. When we were in Stoke I had one Tesco selling 97 and 2 miles down the road they sold 99, who knows why!!

Shell V-Power is all 99 RON wherever you get it..

That will have been me, probably under a different user-name though. A 1996 car should run perfectly well on Shell or Tesco 99RON fuel, as long as its standard and in good order.

I believe that average was quoted for Optimax and not V Power, so V Power could potentially be higher.
