Default what are you opinions on this grille on the 06 STI?

been debating getting the prodrive grille kit.. i have a blue 06 sti with gold wheels (see my scooby).. and im debating on what colour grille kit to get (silver or black).. i thought black initially because of the gold wheels but put this (very crude) picture together to get an idea of what the silver one would like and i quite like it!... anyone elses opinions would be very welcome or if someone can show me a pic of a 06 or 03-05 witha silver grill and gold wheels id be much abliged! thankyou..

heres the botched up pic..

Revolution do a black lower grill to match the upper one that sits back in the bumper. I think this would look better. There is nothing wrong with the silver one, it just looks a little "max power" to me.

Sorry to those that have them, its just not my taste.

drtchock - see this thread over on SIDC - guy up in Scotland has a WR Blue WRX Hawkeye and has the silver grilles on it.

Looks very smart in my opinion.

I think the black would be more subtle.

Black would look more factory like. Silver is to flashy.

Revolution

If you dont have a front splitter, they have a great deal on a grill and splitter package.

They are not standard on the WRX or standard Sti. Is yours a JDM version? I think they dont have them on UK cars because of some sort of regulation, but it is the same as the one you have.

No it is a UK STI spec. D and it is standard on mine mate. It does look slightly different in that the one being discussed in this thread is like the RB320 one where it is not as offset.

There was an attmept a few months back by Revolution to get a Group buy going on their lower mesh grille in black for the Hawkeye

See here:

https://www.scoobynet.com/group-buys...lls-black.html

I have been trying to find out if anyone actually bought one or if Revolutino were interested in reviving or repeating the offer with out much success.

sounds like there my be a few more guys interested in going for this.

Right, now I'm confused.

The one from revolution is the same as mine but is not the same as the RB320 or what I presume is also the Prodrive one initially discussed. What exactly is standard on the 06 STI and is there an after market RB320/Prodrive equivalent?

The black Revolution one is a replica of the one you have. As far as i know, the 06 Sti doesnt have one at all, the WRX defo doesnt.

The silver one is a prodrive replacement but there are some other companies that are now producing this grill.

Hope this helps??!!
