Exclamation Bird Strike!! (Squeamish Alert - Pics Of Dead Bird Inc)

Hapily minding my own business and overtaking a mercedes on a Suffolk A road when this suicidal pigeon shoots out of a hedge.

No chance of a swerve as a merc is a tad expensive to hit and the hedge had trees in it, so we collided with a loud thump and an explosion of feathers

Blood & gore all over the windscreen & I then noticed that there was a head flapping above the scoop

Had to pull over as I was getting odd looks from oncoming cars, but then it was a complete and utter barsteward to pull out from inside the scoop LOL

When it did, more blood and feathers everywhere...

Anyhow, here are a couple of pics of the "victim". It's going to take me ages to clean up!

View from inside the car after windscreen cleaned lol

In position

After removal

I can't see any damage to the RA though so that's a mercy

I know I shouldn't find that funny..

..but it is..

I've had birds hit my car, cause damage, and then fly off too many times not to appreciate some payback now and again..

Quality!!

I hit a small deer in my old LC.. It had been rotting nicely on the M11 for a while and car in front scooped it up, sent it flying spinning through air and it promptly exploded on my car covering it in blood, guts, brains and deer faeces!

I hit one just as it was taking off.
Fortunately the number plate took all of the hit - An inch to the right and my radiator would have been toast.

Took ages to clear the engine bay of feathers

On the google videos, has anyone seen the Evo hitting a seagull at 180mph yet on a MLR track day. That was nasty, hit the winndscreen and totally wrecked it.

Yeah thats pretty damn funny, must be said. The camera angle doesnt really give much of an indication of the speed they were travelling, until all of a sudden the bird went whoosh *thud*

Hmm

Obviously my day for road kill as just driving back down the lane to my house and 2 bunnies sitting in the evening sun. One disappears into the hedge but the other runs straight AT the car Disappears under the front and then there was that "thump" you get when you know its toast
