its not all about the bhp! the ra is a very different car to a wrx! short ratios with a tall 5th being a limeted so will feel as quick, dccd, water spray, and a very raw drive if thats what your in too too name a few things! i would choose that over a wrx with x amount, but i would say that!

Later Type-RAs werent very much lighter at all (certainly nowhere near the -50kgs of the A-Series cars) and the gearing wasnt that extreme either. Id expect closer to 300bhp on the right fuel, but its the improved torque curve that makes the difference.....

I had a 305bhp Wrx a couple of years back and loved it much more than my Uk Turbo. I've now got a virtually std Type-Ra and there's absolutely no comparison. There in a league of there own..

Cheers staffi ..

What suspension set up you running on yours mate ? I've just bought some Eibachs and I'm in 2 minds as to wether i should fit them as i don't want to ruin the std set up. I've got to get some new rim's also as the speedline arn't designed to fit over the 4 pots. I'm after some Rota Tarmac's / Oz P1's.

i have a standard V5 RA, its awsome, totally brutal impreza, the acceleration is imense and its great to drive, i have left 300bhp WRX's with ease thru 3rd, 4th and thein into 5th from anout 40 - 100+ mph.....until you drive one you wont realise the beast that they are IMO

Bang on Simon!

The RAs morphed from a stripped out lightweight shed to pretty much the top spec WRX in the space of 5 years.

jturbo, The MY00 was a Limited, not a V-Limited.
