2.0 & 2.5L Oil filters... the same??

2.0 & 2.5L Oil filters... the same??
hey guys,
need a quick bit of help, just popped to my local suabaru garage (chichester) for an oil filter and sump plug washer, ready for my 03 spec-c (collecting tuesday).
Now the parts guy is on holiday, so a lady tried to help, she asked for chassis number or reg number, as i said i didnt have it she said she couldnt help.
After explaining all i wanted was an oil filter and washer off she went, and came back with one.
She said it was the same items as they fitted to a 2.5L STi earlier that day, and was pretty sure its the same item.
Is this correct, for the filter and washer, or has she sold me the wrong item?
If so, anyone got the part numbers for the correct items!??!!?
