Looking for a car to compete in the hillclimbs/sprints. have around £3000-3500 for a car looking for something that is ready to go pretty much as in stripped caged harnesses and the like was going to buy a very nice mk2 fiesta but the guy sold it when i was workin. any suggestions where to look for a car or if anyone has one and what sort of car would be good?

Try all the usual placs such as ebay etc, then google 'Hillclimbs' etc and follow the club sites.
You can place Wanted ads etc too.

Try for instance my Club's site:
The Official Hagley & District Light Car Club Website

For that money you will find a nice 205 or suchlike, but this is the peak of the season and few will be thinking of selling up right now.
October for sure.

Graham.

Rally parts, rally spares, used and new. Rallying information

I found my old 205 GTi sprint car on this site (paid £2,000) car was fully prepared:

Check out PistonHeads.com :: Speed Matters
click on "classifieds"
then click on motorsport and have a look at road legal and non road legal cars, some good ones come up on there.
Let us know how you get on.

A few points of contact:

HSA - for information on hillclimbs and sprints in the UK

racecarsdirect.com (Race Cars For Sale)

Also, check Motoring News and Autosport.

There are a few cars for sale in the MAC (Midland Automobile Club) and HDLCC newsletters - usually has a few interesting vehicles.

PM for more info.

I went and 'bought' him a suitable car in budget too!
Surprising number available. Why do we bother with expensive Imprezas Richard?

Some very well prepared sprint and hillclimb are available, most with all the big £s already spent. BUT, after all the expense (so far) one has to keep going I suppose.

Something about the Imprezas I can't get out of my system (having owned 5 since 1998).

In hindsight I should have offered to buy your car

Will we see you at Loton next Sunday (my class is a bit daunting)!
