Think you'll be lucky to do it with £1200. To get over anything over 280bhp on the TD04 turbo is good going. Get a bigger turbo and you'll make a comfortable 300bhp, but as you go up you'll start to need stuff like uprated injectors, fuel pump, parallel fuel rails, uprated fuel pressure regulator, etc.

For starters, if you don't have this already, go for:

Full de-cat exhaust.
Ported and wrapped headers.
Fuel pump
Panel filter (Green, K&N etc.)
Bigger turbo (VF34, VF35, etc.)
ECUTek Remap.

Optional:

STI Intercooler or FMIC
Fuelling upgrades.
Stronger clutch.
Stronger gearbox.
Uprated engine.
etc.

Big money pit

This is a good example of what you can achieve https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...xperience.html

If you have decat already then it is possible..

secondhand TD05 - about £250 ~ 300 (may need converting to front entry allow £100).
Ecutek remap £650..
cash spare for fitting and a panel filter.

The standard injectors, fuel pump and headers will allow that just.

Give David at API a ring and ask about the stage two conversion mate.

Tell him NS04 says hi.

yes..

Fuel pump is cheap and easy to change so worth considering but standard pump is upto the job.

Ive got a 99uk scooby same as you, Just got 301bhp and 309 torque
injecters would not go much more for safety.
1200 pound does not go very far on a scooby.
If i was you and i was go with a full exhaust system,
Then k&n or green panel filter, and a ecutek remap its about 500.00 pounds
+ Rolling road time, you sould get around 270-280bhp and the same torque.

I have a my00 with full de-cat, ecu tek 2 and a k&n induction kit with a rolling road print for 275bhp

Not got much money now and not really sure what to do next, probably walbro fuel pump upgrade.

This would be a good start for you within your price range.

Thanks for all the advice guys, ive already got a full de-cat exhaust, pipercross panel filter, bailey dump valve and exedy clutch fitted,

A Friend of mine (also on a my99 turbo) is running 310BHP from a front mount,td05 16G turbo with remap uprated fuel pump and a couple of other small bits but no internal work. He got a real good deal to get this and im on look out too. I just want to get somewhere near his rolling road figure so he cant keep bragging like a PR**K

Spoke to a guy at graham goode racing and he said he would'nt recommend going over 280bhp on this engine without touching the internals

What do ya think

With the right mods, 1st class mapping and providing the car is well treated and maintained, the low 300s are perfectly safe IMHO

Make a cup of tea, then read this mate.

just being over precautious imho..

early 300s is fine.. beyond a VF or TD05 16g size turbo you would need to start considering intercooler change and obviously injectors etc.. and would begin to push the internals.. but what you are considering is not pushing the internals, imho..
