Default is there anyway of improving the "sound" of an 06 STI?

was outside the car today when it was running and thought it sounded ****! lol... i could harldy hear the engine at all..... i want that deep classic flat 4 impreza sound.. without any loss in performance.. anway of achieving it? thanks

just change the backbox - simple as that and a heck of a lot cheaper

yeah im just a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like that... i used to race karts and people dont realise how much something as simple as the exhaust can have such an effect on the cars performance..

get a hayward & scott system or if ur on a budget just get the backbox. sounds superb, not too loud just right.

Hi mate i just fitted a TSL group N back box to my sti07 and its perfect you cant go wrong , i had one on my 53 sti as well very good and only £175.
If you like i can mail you a video of the car with it sitting idling ?

had a TSL Group N backbox - good system and performs well

now got a Miltek System and backbox and works even better and is marginally louder but not intrusive on cruise.

fitted a tsl group n backbox and straight through centre section to my07 sti.

mprovement in sound is awesome,got rid of the rear resonator and freed up some(not all)burble

Well worth changing the resonated section aswell as this really frees up the flat 4 sound. I at first only changed the back box, but the resonated section made all the difference. (TSL)

Change the center silencer only.
