Default Incident In The Impreza Yesterday.

Had just left work and pulled up at a junction behind a car and a coach.
As it was warm i put the air con on as i was stopping.

Thats when i had a bit of a problem. There was a smell similar to burning rubber, and i started to feel very weird. Burning sensation at the beck of my head, fingers went tingly, and everything got a bit blurry.

Turned the engine off and still didn't feel great, then the lights changed so started up and drove off.

Felt very light headed for the remainder of the drive and couldn't concentrate. (yes i should have pulled over, but wanted to get home)

Have started the car twice since and the air con is fine, so smells or funny feelings.

All i can think of is the fumes from the coach come through my open windows (there was no breeze)

First time anything like that has happened in 10 years of driving.

Anyone have any ideas what it could have been?

Don't mean to scare you, but you may want to consider the following.

When a person has a simple epeleptic seizure, you don't loose conscienceness but you may experience tingling or twitching and a strange sensations such as odd smells and tastes.

Although i am sure it is not, may be worth at least speaking to a GP or checking out the NHS Direct web site where you can input your symptoms. Self-Help Guide - Advice on symptoms & conditions - NHS Direct

Might pop to the doctors next week then to get checked over.
Might be me that the problem is with rather than the car or coach

Ahhhh, that'll be it then mate.

If you have been drinking Red Bull the pain in the back of your head is actually displaced pain from your spine and the tingling in your fingures is a change in your central nervous system where you body is undergoing a metamorphic change of.......................what for it.............................GROWING WINGS !!!!

Panic attacks, or anxiety attacks however you want to refer to them, can cause the physical feelings you describe, and they needn't be in any particular situation where you would expect to be anxious. Keep off the red bull and coffee for a week, maybe you were just a bit ẃired'

Some of your symptoms are here.

Hmmm, i had this mate but i put it down to not eating anything that day and having a cold!

My air con cannot be turned on without first opening the windows... I know this sounds weird but if i just switch it on the smell is very mouldy and it gives me a bannging sore head. Once its been on for a minute its fine, the windows can then be closed.
