Dont do it, I looked at both cars before buying (STI3 V Evo IV).
If it was an EVO VI, that is different. But the EVO IV just does not feel as good.
But, thats me. Test drive them both back to back.
Good luck, both are great cars. Impreza is just greater.

P.S. Insurance is a mare on all imports at the moment.......I'd buy UK Scoob

Sourob,
Mates got an EVO IV and he loves it. Mind you its in red with blacked out windows and looks like a drug dealers car. Anyway, back to the point in hand. It is probably faster in normal hands than a scooby. Its got loads of torque low down so is easy to drive fast, hangs on round bends that would see a scooby in the hedge (he has had 70 round a small motorway roundabout and the car wan't out of shape). He gets 30mpg on long runs, although it only has a 50 litre tank.
Now for the bad points. Engine sounds borring. Needs a service every 6k. When the back end goes, it goes fast, and the car likes to sort itself out so you just hang on and keep your foot on the gas. Also it has a hard ride so is a bit jittery over rough roads.
Hope this helps

How much are you paying for your Evo IV? Just had a look on the Autotrader website and you can get an Evo V with 10K miles for £16K. There are also loads of IV's for sale for around £13K and all with less than 20K miles on.
Bargain central or what!
Get an Evo, you'll never look back, just ask Blowdog, he's on his second.
Don't pay too much though..

There is a Mitsubishi vehicle recall effecting IV's and V's at the moment, due to some problem with the AYC. Definitely something to check if you consider going for one.

Gary.
