Default A few MY07 WRX questions...

Is the key still the same style as the 02's or have they gone for a more modern style, laser cut etc.?

Are the standard headunits MP3 yet ?

And most importantly lol, the tailpipe on the WRX, anyone got a good picture of one ?

Hehe very nice on both counts

Nice to see the standard one is pretty ok looking.
Was there much of a sound to it ?

How about the keys, are they the same as the older ones, the type that scratch your car and dig holes in your pockets ? lol

Standard HU, MP3 or boring old thing ?

SO what type of key is it. Old style ?

Looking forward to getting the first 1000 on the clock on mine too, just as soon as I pick it up.

And does anyone know about the stereo, MP3 or not ?
It will be coming out as soon as the replacement SECS and Alpine are bought, but just wondered for now.

Think of it as a surprise when the car arrives

Mines not mp3 and can't see MP3 listed in the owners manual or on any of the other stereos listed.
cd and cassette I wonder how many people have actually played a tape.

Mines a standard WRX and as the eailier picture shows the exhaust looks good although it sounds like any other car quite quiet, it does however sound like it has a big engine. You need to change it if you want the scooby sound

Fair play freddy cheers matie.

Looks like I will be getting the new Alpine asap then lol

As for the back box, something simple will do me I reckon, Racebox maybe. Or similar.

Hi Mate

HU is pretty diar but looks quite nice which is why I have not changed it for a single Din unit (double din Knewood DVD on the list but way to expensive at the mo), I have however upgraded the front speakers to some more powerful Pioneers items, only £30 so did not cost a fortune but also do not distort when the volume is over 5 clicks.

As for the Key, this is my first Subaru so I have nothing to compare it too but its a normal looking old fashioned key, no fancy laser cut unit.

Standard exhaust looks very nice in the flesh, SS tailpipe but the box itself its a bit cheap looking and made out of mild steel, as far as I was concerned it was way to quite for a Subaru, my Foci ST made more noise. I initially put the Prodrive back box on and was still not satisfied so also fitted a SS de-resonator section, now it is perfect and with the window down you can hear the burble, no motorway noise though which is good. My wife picked me up the other day it in and its the first time I have heard it from the outside and it is quite loud but sounds very nice, I was really suprised, my mates have now told me that just the new back box sounded good on its own but as I was always in the car I never knew.

Also think there was a thread a while back titled 'show us your keys' do a search and someone may have posted soem Hawkeye keys!!

Anyway hope that helps.
Arron

Blimey, now there is an answer Cheers Aaron.

I guess I will put up with the standard HU til the PSi3 is ready for action then I can put that and the new headunit.... Car Audio Direct - The UK's leading car audio and stereo resource. Alpine DVA-9965R - Alpine ALP-DVA9965R

As for the key, bummer lol, I hate that style.

Exhaust is gonna have to wait a while, cant really justify the spend, unless of course it sounds THAT pants.
I assume changing the backbox does not affect warranty?
