Default IHI VF24, better than standard UK blower?

I've been offered a new IHI VF24.. Is this capable of higher boost levels than the standard "UK (Face lift classic) Turbo" blower (VF22?? ) and are the UK spec injectors up to the job?

Thanks peeps!

The standard Uk facelift turbo is a TD04 not the VF22. The VF24 is capable of higher boost than the Td04 and will make a good upgrade with a front mount intercooler. The injectors will be okay as long as you fit and uprated pump and possibly regulator.

The turbo on my car doesnt look like a TD04? If it is is the V24 a direct fit?

Cheers!

The VF22 is a monster of a turbo! If the VF24 is being offered to you at an attractive price then Id have it. Its essentially similar to a later VF29 although the VF29 has an improved turbine design.

I'm going to see if the guy will get the turbo to me so I can take a look at it and compare it with what I've got.. Correct me if im wrong but isnt the TD04 a solid bearing turbo? Defo does not feel as laggy as a solid bearing turbo..

The majority of turbos have a thrust bearing, as do the VF24/29. The TD04 feels perky due to its size. It spools quickly because its small, not because it has a roller bearing compressor.

vf24 spools well and pumps out decent enough air, a good upgrade for a uk car if you dont want to go crazy

A very rugged turbo that is capable of moving a lot of air. Having said that due to the size of it some unwelcome lag may be present.
