It depends on which year it is. There is at least one new age Japanese variant with a switchable map. I know that a number of people were looking into this for the MY06 Spec C although there were a couple of lingering issues last time I checked.

I am not sure of the ECU code but a number of the ECUTEK tuners know what it is. Pat Herborn is the man to speak to.

We were going to use a fog light switch to select maps.

yes I know its possible on these ECUs but is it possible on the original ECUs with a ecutek remap? I know the map is switched by pressing the rear de-mister - correct me if I am wrong.....

Exactly - the answer is yes depending on your exact ECU.

Sorry not really directly answering your question as don't know the MY concerned

Normally cannot not switch between maps in EcuTek reprogrammed ECUbut you can switch two different programable boost levels . By operating Foot to floor and Rear heated button at the same time.

IIRC

The limitation is not ECUTEK.

IIRC there is a none AVCS version that will allow switching and the work was being done to enable a full switchable map for AVCS cars. Of course I could be remembering the cause incorrectly as it was a while since I was looking into it.

Yes - if you actually bothered to read my post - Pat Herborn, or if you can't get a hold of him then other people would include Rich at PS and Merv at Ecutek.

I can do it on my 03 GL STI.

I think it has a Spec C ECU though and I can do eitehr the floglight switch over, or via my SECs monitor.

It is not a comepletly differeent map, only some of the parameters are changed.

I have mine set with low boost and rev limited for when the car goes into the garage to be worked on.

As mentioned by Pippyrips and Hol it is possible to have either low/high boost settings or, using MegaRom, full on switchable maps including all ign, fuel and boost control (including gear by gear). Also get launch control as a toy.

The boost switch option has been available since 2003, I've been using MegaRom for about two years.

It works on any of the JDM Sti's btw all the way back to MY2001

cheers

bob

Bob.

You remapped my Spec C a few months ago. Have I got launch control?

TX.
