Default Long Term (5yr+) Scoobynetters sign in

I realised the other day that I have been a SNetter for 6 years, - over which time a lot of new people (Some with some interesting ideas ) have come along.

It got me wondering where a lot of the original enthusiasts of the marque are now and whether or not they still come on here and post.

So,
If you have been registered since April 2002, feel free to post what you have been up to, and whether you still have a Scoob (why not).

Anyone else who posts will be considered a 'Spam' poster or troll.

Yup,

I remember before he moved to Canada.

He was one of the Scoobynetters I helped get P1 parts from a local breakers the day it cleared insurance.

I think someone got a Carbon strutbrace for £30 as the breakers didn't know what they had.

£30 is still cheap now.

me too

Although I cannot remember by original username, when I very first registered on SN, it would have been around March 1999

I remember getting an email from SdB saying that Scoobynet 2 had just been launched

I have been on here since 2001, although my profile says 2003, dont know why that is.

I remember the date because i ordered my first scooby(bugeye) in May 2001 and picked it up after i came back from Kosovo in Dec 2001, and before i ordered it i was asking advice on here.

Got a 350z now and have just put a deposit down on a MY04 Spec C Ltd,looking forward to being back in a scoob again.

I also remember when the Scotland forum was jumping, like a ghost town now.

I must have squandered a good few hours on here..probably joined 6 yrs ago...

If I'd have worked those hours I'd probably have enough money to buy a subaru

Should it not be if you have registered prior to April 2002?

Assuming that's what you meant I qualify by a month

What have I been doing since then?

My Status in April 2002
  • I owned a Saxo VTS but was aspiring/planning to get an Impreza
  • I had recently come out of a long term relationship that ended badly
  • I was a planning officer with my whole career ahead of me
  • I was oblivious to fuel surge
  • I was about 11.5 stone and fairly fit.

Since Then I've
  • Bought an MY99 Impreza, modified it, loved it, spun it (fuel surge), de-modified it and sold it.
  • Bought John Banks 406 V6 and blow it up
  • Replaced that 406 V6 with another and blow it up also
  • Bought an S2000, modified it, de-modified it and sold it on. Also realised this is my best car ever and RWD is the way to go
  • Got two ***** directly from Scoobynet
  • Put on two stone and lost any fitness I had
  • Learned to play poker to a point where it's now a very large part of my life.
  • Moved into a rented flat, shared it with various people and then bought it myself.

Now
  • Come full circle and now have an STi 5 with circa 310bhp
  • Met a lass that isnt' a nutcase and who can tollerate me, moved her in and got engaged.
  • Did grown up stuff like remortgage together, combine our finances and decorate our entire flat
  • Still a planner but hate it and want a career change
  • View poker as that potential career change
  • Still overweight and get knackered walking up stairs
  • Still think scoobies are over-hyped

All in all I've not done a lot really! I'm pretty slow to change though Still like Scoobynet and it's still my home page. Don't know why I just like to start my surf here

I joined back it august 02, a few month after the purchase of my 1st scoob, MY98 Turbo 2000 PPP in white.

unfortunaly, i smashed it 5 month after i bought it.

Then came along whats probably the best car i have driven to date, my 306 Rallye, awsome little piece of kit it was. Still suffering major deppression lol after crashing my scoob, i never really appreciated the poor little thing

Then i imported and new shape FTO, very nice car, but just wasnt really me

Then in MAY 05 i ordered my WRX again in white from the dealer, with PPP. Probably tempting fate but what the hell, you only live once

Got to be said though, when i didnt have a scoob, i still browsed, but very rarely posted, was only looking to keep in touch with the way things were

I would dig out an older user name to prove I've been on here a fair bit before April '02 (seeing ALi-B actually is April '02...was that done on purpose? ) But the dating system screwed up the join date, so this is the oldest, although my oldest user ID is 12922, which I guess at being around Jan '02? (even though it says feb'04)

So, me? Well been here on and off. Owned a Impreza (with which I had a long standing hate-hate relationship) thoughout my SN life up until last month, in which the shed was finally got rid of for a more sensible car (Monaro ).

But during which I've owned allsorts; as the Impreza originally started life as a daily car replacing a tweeked XR3 130ps that ate gearboxes, then the scoob was relogated for weekends due to running costs, then reinstated as a daily driver when I got tired of driving bangers and shopping trolleys everyday (reminding me of its driveability annoyances). Also own(ed) various second/first cars, from a Mk2 Polo to a Honda NSX and a ton of classic motorbikes - all of which seem to be broken in one way or another. Not to mention inheriting a pimped up Jag XJ-s in which there is always something wrong too. Just as well that I'm a dab handy with a spanner (in the blood ).

Well thats my life story.

Now excuse me whilst I hop onto another alias and resume normal service, tata

Wink

Dec 2000 here, been away but always pooping back to see how things are, since the P1 in 2001, had 1 of the first Evo 7s that Ralliart ever brought into the country took that up to approx 340bhp, had that 2 yrs bought a new house with the wife and had to have 6 months or so in a 2.2 dti frontera sport lol. Went then to a 6 month old M3 great machine, proper drivers tool the props the best of the lot........E39 M5 which is an complete animal in all areas stunning to drive, performance a touch behind new M5 really awsome in any gear from any revs, also soooo smooth when you want to be, really will miss it, now have come full circle as the dogs didnt take to the m5 like i did so moved to the practical side of life for a short while and got myself a wrx sl wagon hawkeye with ppp, dogs love it and its not a bad car at all, summer is coming so should have some fun!
Hope all the old skool is well.
