alloy stickers...
as plenty of you guys/girls know, some fanny pulled out from a t-junction and t-boned last tuesday morning. now im awaiting confirmation from my insurers when hes basically gonna cough up, it got me thinking.
i wanna get my wheels refurbed at the same time. 5 week pay month so could probably scrap the money together.
wheels are 17" p1 oz-racing alloys, genuine article prodrive jobbies. rung up jase at scoobybits who remommends a lady in barnsley who charges approx. £40+v.a.t. per wheel.
2 questions...
- is this a good price, as i have seen her work in the flesh on jase's yellow type-r,
- where can i get a set of replacement oz-racing stickers (in white) to put on after refurbing/re-spraying has been done.
its the stickers i mainly want, so the wheels still look uber
cheers for any help

would they use a different material, say more hard wearing from things like brake dust or wheel cleaner. thats what i was worried about.
ive tried prodrive, subaru, oz-wheels, oz-racing, ebay... no luck anywhere. i dont even mind paying a premuim for originals, even good strong copies

To be honest £40 is a good price but are they just being resprayed?
Mine cost £80 per wheel but the tyres where removed, rims bead blasted, dings and scuffs filled etc, checked for crack, buckles and then multi layer re-coated then tyres on and re-balanced.
There in "View My Scoob". They were pretty badly scuffed etc but they are OE PPF7's so where worth it.

Hello Andy, I was at Brian Nimmo's Body Repairs last week picking up the lad's car, and there was a guy there with a white Evo6. We got talking and he told me he'd just had HIS wheels done by a bloke in Scunny, Wheel Doctor, IIRC. THEY were OZ. The bloke had done them a different colour for him, replaced all lettering, and even adjusted the level of "chroming" to his spec, as they were that dark grey shiny effect. They looked brand new, and the whole job was done for £35 per wheel, picked up and delivered back.
He had even been invited to go and see the "chroming" being done, so that he could spec what level.

£35 seems cheap, what was the work like. were the wheels sprayed or powder coated? not sure on the difference. all i want mine doing is the same as now, just nice and shiney with new stickers.

Hello Andy, yes the Evo was on a private plate.
Dunno if they were painted, coated or what, but they looked brand new, stickers and all. £35 was maybe as he and a mate went together, and had 8 wheels done, so discount?
Yes, Nimmo is near the bowling alley, prob the best bodyshop in town, not counting MSM at Winterton, but they are WAY dear
Alcazar
Spoke to the guy this am, with a view to getting a price for my lad's Saxo wheels. It's £40 per wheel if you take him the car/wheels&tyres, and £35 per wheel if you take bare wheels, no tyres.
Any colour.

Ive used both of these:
TJ. Wheels LTD.
About Lap-Tab
both bead blast & fill ...& then powder coat, all for £35-40 plus vat
TJ Wheels have a massive range of colours too & so are able to colour match perfectly ...id say £80 a wheel is a bit steep (my local tyre fitters removed my tyres for free & fitted them all again for a tenner!) ...unless they were egg shaped!
