Default ANOTHER BOV QUESTION

Not after the PSSST or SWOOSH but heard a GTIR the other day with an amazing sound on gear change - very hard to explain the sound but sounded amazing.

It sounded like a flutter sound? like it was pulling air in not pushing it out

What was he running?

Could've been an aftermarket induction kit. One of my mates fitted an open cone filter to his Astra GSI Turbo and that made a 'flutter' noise on every gear change after that.

He probably was running no D/V! The noise you heard was actually what is known as "wastegate chatter", but it is actually the air that should be expelled rebounding back onto the turbo fins, hence the sound. It is actually bad for the turbo though and will probably go bang!

Pretty bad for the compressor when it is stalling like that.
