Default Technical Help Please...

Hi,

Having just joined after buying my first Scooby I have found loads of great help on here...

I have noticed that my car idles roughly, surges when driving around 15 - 25mph in 2nd - 3rd and stalls when pulling up after a long run (30mins or more).

From reading on here it seems as though it could be one of three things...

1. MAF
2. Idle Control Valve
3. Lambda Sensor

My first job it seems would be to clean and replace the MAF and ICV to see if it helps.

I have a 97 Turbo 2000 Wagon.

Would someone be able to send me a pic of where the Idle control valve is and let me know how I should take it off and clean it?

I have cleaned a MAF before with contact cleaner, is there an air entrance hole that the cleaner should be sprayed into on these?

Thanks for any help given...

Cue Ball...

Does the "Check engine" light come on? If so check the error it is giving you, by matching the number of flashes to the error code list. If not try reseting the ECU, disconnecting the battery should do it.
