Question Help! looking to buy my first scoob

Hi everyone, first post, looking for some help buying my first scooby

I'm looking to spend about 4500k to leave enough dough for the premiums. I am interested in the performance difference between a standard WRX and an STI. Is the STI worth the extra dough??

Hoping to buy a car in about the 1996 age bracket

I have always loved the look of the stock 555 special edition models with the blue on gold look but I also like the the standard models with a bit of a body kit so not too sure what to go for at the mo.

Someone was telling me there are mad servicing requirements for the STI's that come too about 2500 a year but it just sounded like mad pub talk to me?! at least I hope it was!

Any good tips on what to look out for would be helpfull as I don't want to get caught out as a newbie geek!!

Have a look here:

Subaru Impreza FAQ

Lots of info to get you started. If you are after a 96 there will be either 15 or 20 bhp difference between them - so not a lot. There are a few differences, the FAQ link above explains them.

Servicing will be the same for all classics, big service once a year plus little service once a year (oil/filter change).

STi's are worth more though, so as you are looking to spend only £4.5k I would stick to a WRX.
