Default Lower grill for blob from Revolution

Has anyone bought one of the MY03-05 lower grills from Revolution Performance Motorstore ? I prefer the grill to be recessed rather than on top of the black plastic trim behind the number plate, so if anyone has any alternative recommendations....

Think its the Orciari version you're on about from memory Elmer Fudpucker had one fitted.

Did you ever purchase the lower grill from Revolution Performance Motorstore? Im also looking at purchasing one of these. Does anyone have any picture of it fitted as the one on their website is a bit small and doesnt really show it that well.

Cheers

I didn't go for it. I am thinking of making one myself. You can buy some good black mesh from Halfords - Ripspeed competition mesh for about £23 or get some very similar on eBay for £18. Think I will do that and save myself some brass.

Good idea. I did that on my previous scoob. I purchased some rip speed mesh from Halfords. I used the cardboard packaging it came in to make a template of the lower area and then transferred that to the mesh. From that I was able to cut the mesh to fit. I then used tie wrap sticky back holders on the body work to hold the mesh in place with tie wraps to secure the mesh. I picked the tie wrap holders up from Wilkinsons for just under quid. All in all it was very easy todo. The key is to make sure that when you offer the mesh to the car once its cut and ready for fitting is to be careful that the edges on the mesh don't scratch the paint work. During this stage I used a low tack masking tape on the surrounding area to act as a protection. The finished result looked very good.

This time around I'm keen on buying one. I like the look of the Lowe one but having contact them early on this week I was told they done stock them anymore! So it looks like its either Revolution Motorsport of Scoobyworld. Would be nice though to see some more pictures as the ones on their website dont really show it that well....

Elmer - don't suppose you have any pictures of a close up of the grill? Too dark to really see the finished article. Nice looking motor by the way!

Did you spray paint the surrounding area of the grill to blend in with your car?

Yes the base colour is black, but it comes with 2 pre drilled holes to screw self-tappers into the lower part of your bumper.

I wasn't partial to having screws that showed(the upper bit didn't matter)so I filled them and held it on the bottom with double sided No plate stickies...bit of a work-up but thats what I did,no problems at all
